Feb 26 – Filming Steyning Line in West Sussex

Filming with the Railway Ramblers in March 2026: Tracing the Rails is a not-for-profit documentary series dedicated to uncovering the history of the former Steyning Line in West Sussex, which closed in 1966. Created by local film-makers Chris Kirk and Louise Kirk-Partridge, and presented by Stephen Cranford and Mike Pope-Jaimes, the series combines archive research, on-location walking, interviews and aerial footage to tell the story of the communities once served by the railway. Now part of the Downs Link, the old trackbed is enjoyed by walkers and ramblers alike. Tracing the Rails explores what was lost, what remains, and why these forgotten routes still matter to local heritage and countryside exploration today.
