As part of the Cirencester History Festival, the former Cirencester Town station will be open free to the public to visit as the Old Station Experience project on Saturday October 25th and Saturday November 1st. The details of the event are currently being finalised, but Festival Manager, Clare Wheatley, believes the timings will be 11:00 to 16:00 on both days. The Old station Experience is sponsored by the Daniel Bingham Foundation and will include guided tours of the station building with architect Jonathan Rixon while it’s stripped back for critical refurbishment. It will also include an exhibition featuring archive photographs, plans and maps, plus an audio exhibition. There will be tea, coffee and light refreshments served from a trolley on the old platform.
If any members have items that may be of interest, or memories of the station when open, the organisers can be contacted at :-
