Nov 26 – Tracing the Rails Premiere Event

On Wednesday 21st October eight Railway Ramblers members went to the premiere of the new Episode of Tracing the Rails, which features the club.  The RR group involved in the filming were all invited to the event as guests by the production team.

It took place at Christ’s Hospital school, just outside Horsham, in the school’s impressive theatre. (The final episode of the Series will feature Christ’s Hospital station and the school).

The series is about the Steyning Line that ran from Shoreham to Horsham and in Episode 5 the film crew covered the section from West Grinstead to Southwater.

The Railway Ramblers group appears near the beginning of the new Episode and were delighted to see themselves chatting to Stephen Cranford the presenter on the big screen for around 6 minutes. During the interview, the RR website address is shown on screen. Hopefully once this goes live later in the year it will attract new members.

It was a very memorable evening in a very grand setting, a beautiful theatre built in the fashion of Shakespeare’s Globe. We were honoured to involved and to be invited to the event.

We have subsequently been advised that the new Episode will be released on YouTube on 25th November; The programme is already listed on YouTube at the following link West Grinstead to Southwater Railway – Tracing The Rails – Episode 5

The overall Episode runs to around 2½ hours, and shorter ‘edited’ programmes will also be shown on Rewind TV at some point around Christmas.
