The Sping 2021 edition of the Club Magazine – Railway Ramblings – is soon to be sent to members. Join Railway Ramblers now to receive your copy. Membership is just £10 per year!
The magazine is published each quarter and sent to every member.
The Spring issue contains a bumper 56 pages and includes the Editorial and Notes from the Chairman regarding club activities in these unprecedented times. The magazine also contains regular features such as National News, Mystery Location and many more (but sadly no Walk Reports).
Some of the magazine highlights are outlined below.
Campaigns Officer
A more structured ‘job description’ for the role of Campaigns Officer has been developed and published for any member interested to apply or find out more from the Club Chairman or Secretary. Six areas have been highlighted, but there is scope to develop the post as the role evolves.
Letters
There are letters to the Editor on a variety of subjects including a request to assist the HRE Group with information that would help with the campaign to save endangered bridges, suggestions for including cyclist’s considerations on disused trails and recollections from RR members relating to articles in previous magazines.
Former Station Sites
This edition covers three stations in the Exe Valley in the West Country, tracing the history in the area from 1844 when The Bristol and Exeter Railway completed the line between Bristol and Exeter. The company then became part of the Great Western Railway and the article focuses on three stations that came and subsequently went!
