The magazine is published each quarter and sent to every member. The Autumn edition will be published and distributed in early September.
The Summer issue contains 48 pages and includes the Editorial and Notes from the Chairman regarding club activities in these unprecedented times. The magazine also contains regular features such as National News, Walk Reports, Mystery Location and many more – including some highlights outlined below.
Letters
There are letters to the Editor on a variety of subjects. These include an update on a military path, a student at the University of Edinburgh asking readers for examples of re-used goods sheds for their MSc and a club member has submitted photographs of potential track bed items in need of identification
Articles
This quarter’s articles discuss the future for the campaigning activities of Railway Ramblers and the need to grow the membership – outlining the opportunities offered by the re-purposing old railway assets and their new uses. There is also a feature reviewing tales from a British Transport Film dating from 1952
Former Station Sites
Manchester Mayfield Station is the subject for this edition. The Station opened in 1910 and was connected to Manchester London Road Station by footbridge. It closed in 1960 and the article follows what subsequently happened to the site through to today
