Mar 25 – Sunday 1st June:- A day out at the GWSR

RR members are invited to a day out at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) meeting at the Trust Office at Toddington Station to meet Rob Davidson to get kitted up for a visit to the Steam and Diesel sheds, and afterwards there will be time to visit The Cotswold Halt for a bacon roll or similar and get our tickets.

We then get the 1020 Loco-hauled Diesel Service to Broadway then the 1055 back to Winchcombe arriving 1125 for a visit to the Signal Box and the Carriage & Wagon works. There is also a cafe there for lunch if required.

We depart on the Steam service at 1327 to Cheltenham Race Course for a quick visit to the Signal Box and get the same train departing 1410 to Gotherington for a visit to the privately owned station which will include rides on the private siding with a pump trolley and a look around the buildings at the vast array of signs etc. The organised tour ends here and you have a choice of trains to go to Broadway and back to Toddington or to CRC and back to Broadway and Toddington.

The fare is £25.20 [10% discount] for a Day Rover plus a £5 donation to the Railway per person.

This is the Sunday after the Annual Steam gala and in the past few years most of the visiting locos are still at the Railway.
