Just to bring your attention to this new TV series which should do what it says on the proverbial tin so will be of much interest to RR and BLS members, even though some of the lines are not entirely abandoned. It starts on Channel 4 at 20.25 this Saturday, 21st Sept, runs for 6 weeks and will be available on catch-up for yonks afterwards – and already is in Australia! Lines covered (in order, unless C4 indulges in its annoying habit of random schedule changes – they are as bad as Transport for Wales at times) : 1. Somerset & Dorset 2. Oxford – Cambridge 3. Scarborough – Whitby 4. Aberystwyth – Carmarthen 5. York – Hull 6. Waverley Route (Carlisle – Edinburgh, including the site of what used to be the largest factory in the world, north of Gretna which some of us reached the edge of on a railtour last Saturday!)
